Consumer Finance Outstanding
If you don't pay your loans, fines, or other debts on time, this may be turned over to a debt collector. The Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act regulates debt arising from loans and credit contracts (CCCFA). The CCCFA does not reimburse debts incurred as a result of fines rather than credit. You can report a debt collector to the Commerce Commission if you believe they have misled you. Report the debt collector to the police if he or she threatens you. We, the debt-recovery agency will examine your alternatives and double-check that the debt. We also communicate with debt collectors on your behalf and file a dispute with your lender's dispute settlement system.
